Since the new year we have been planning our maintenance tasks for the coming 12 months. These maintenance tasks will be more than just our normal day-to-day maintenance and involve some major renovation work. We have not published these plans until now as we’ve been “dotting our i’s and crossing our t’s”, but can now reveal what we have planned. Of course, there will be many other items of maintenance continuing as normal, but below we have made a chronological chart of the “Headline” plans that may be of interest:

This system will start our goal to reduce our carbon footprint and lead on to us looking at adding air-source heat-pumps and expanding the system further across our club in 2020, reducing our emissions even further. (There will be minimal impact to our users whilst we undertake these works)[/ezcol_2third_end]
[ezcol_1third]Autumn – Winter 2019[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]Pool Side Loungers/Cushions
A replacement of the poolside loungers will be undertaken. We are currently look for alternatives to the current lounger used and once a suitable replacement/alternative to loungers without separate cushions can be found, we will roll these out.[/ezcol_2third_end]
[ezcol_1third]November 2019[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]Complete Renovation of the Male Changing Room.
During this time a temporary changing, toilet and shower facility will be provided whilst we completely remove floors, lockers, walls and ceiling and replace with new. We envisage this work taking approximately 4 weeks to complete and will effect the Gents Changing Facility Only. The club will be open as normal and we’ll do our very best to ensure members are able to use the club as normal.[/ezcol_2third_end]
[ezcol_1third]November – December 2019[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]Ladies Changing Room – Locker Locks.
Following on from the Gents Changing Room refurbishment we will be changing all of the Female Changing Room locker locks to a newer version. Once completed we will be distributing new wristbands (to adult members, cards for children) to replace the old membership cards. These wrist bands will will also replace the current Technogym Keys for the gym.[/ezcol_2third_end]
[ezcol_1third]Winter 2019-20[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]Pool 3 (Adults Pool) Filters
We will be carrying out major maintenance work to the filtration system of pool three. These works will be undertaken in a way that pool three will remain operational at all times.[/ezcol_2third_end]
[ezcol_1third]Late Spring 2020[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]Pool Hall 1 (The Family Pool Hall) Flooring
The replacement/renewal of flooring in pool hall one and general maintenance. Further details of this project will be given out closer to the time (These works will cause disruption, but the majority of the pool hall facilities will remain open)[/ezcol_2third_end]
[ezcol_1third]Late Spring – Summer 2020[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]Pool Hall 1 Ceiling and Roof
Following the flooring works we will be moving onto the ceiling of pool hall 1. These works will not effect the facility below as we will be constructing a safety ceiling to allow building works to continue whilst we are open (There may a little noise though)[/ezcol_2third_end]
During all works everything will be done to reduce impact to our members and we’ll do our very best to keep the facilities open. We thank our members for their understanding but also for their continued support and custom and hope that this program of works investing circa £800,000.00 goes someway to show our continued commitment in providing the highest level of facilities for the years to come. As already stated the above works do not take into consideration our normal maintenance programs and other tasks will continue to be carried out as a matter of course.
