Please note the ‘Covid 19: Keeping you safe’ video was produced prior to face masks being made compulsory.
At Wye Leisure we have taken the safety of our members and staff to the upmost levels and hopefully our club users can see our commitment to keeping the club Covid-Secure. Below you will find details on the measures we are taking. The adoption of these measures by our members is appreciated.
HAND WASHING & SCANNING: Although the requirement has been removed, we have retained the requirement for all club users to Wash Hands (or use alcohol gel) on entering the facility. We will also continue to scan club users and will be refusing admission to users with a body temperature above 37.8 degrees Celsius.
FACE COVERINGS: As you’ll be aware, the mandatory requirement to wear a face covering has now been re-implemented, except to those with a medical exception, children under the age of 11 or if have a reasonable excuse for removing it.
Face coverings are not legally required:
We politely ask members to adopt this requirement unless they are exempt.
We ask members / customers not to take the policing of this requirement “into their own hands”.
Throughout all previous lockdowns, whilst government imposed the need for Wye Leisure to close, all memberships were frozen. As we move forward this same policy would be re-implemented if any further closures of the facility were imposed by government to manage Covid-19.
All policies/restrictions on guest admission, the ratio of children to adults, usage of the changing rooms and showers will cease as from the 19th of July. We would however ask that users continue to make use of the “purple spray” and wipe down areas/touch points as you finish.
Our team will start to increase the number of classes and number of attendees in a class, as of the 19th July. It is our intention to have a class timetable resembling our pre-Covid timetable, by the end of September. Bookings for classes will continue via the App or within the class.
During lock-downs we have unfortunately lost Aqua Aerobic Instructors. Due to this and as we recruit, we will be running minimal aqua aerobic classes over the next couple of months.
As of the 19th July, ordering for items from the Coffee Shop will revert to orders being placed at the till in the coffee shop (like in pre-covid times), just keeping a bit more distance from those around you.
As of the 19th July we will be reverting back to pre-Covid service times for drinks. Last orders for Drinks will be 9.00pm and not 8.00pm
It’s fantastic that we are now allowed to increase the number of people within the fitness suite. We would however ask that all users continue to take a bottle of “purple spray” and paper towel with them and clean down equipment once finished, however don’t get too excited with the trigger – Technogym are having massive issues with faulty equipment due to the amount of spray being applied and equipment breaking down.
Our staff will also continue to “fog” the complete fitness suite at regular intervals throughout the day and your understanding whilst this is completed is greatly appreciated.
Some of our pool lounger screens will remain for the time being but as we move forward, these will reduce in number. Unfortunately, these screens reduce the number of loungers we can accommodate, so as we move forward through the coming months it may be likely that we need to reduce the number of screens further.
We continue to make use of the Green and Red Disc for pool loungers usage. If club users could ensure they leave the loungers with the Red side showing to notify our staff that your lounger is finished with and needs spraying down.
As beauty is a close-contact service we will be continuing to operate in the same Covid-Secure manner, as we have been since coming out of lock-down 1. Our Beauty department will be the only area within the facility whereby we will require the mandatory use of face coverings (unless you are medically exempt). We shall also continue with Covid-19 screening 24hrs prior to any treatment.
There has been a pent-up demand for Beauty / Spa appointments due to the many lock-downs we have endured. Martha and team are working as hard as they can to clear the back-log of customers. Due to this we are limiting the number of Spa Days until the end of the year. If you a looking to make an appointment, please call 01432 860860 selecting option 2. You may be required to leave a message and we ask that you leave as much information in your message as possible. Our staff will attempt to call you as quickly as possible thereafter. Please note calling in the first instance is preferable due to the amount of enquiries we are getting via email.
Coffee Club is dearly missed by many users. It will be back but not quite yet. Watch this space…
